The Mayans see gaining adherents because of the recent world events. The mystical and superstitious, relate the events of war, famine, pestilence, global warming and other disasters to fulfill the seven prophecies. There are many people believing that the world will end in 2012 as "prophesied" the Maya. The subject is quite extensive, but my goal is just to compare what the Maya says with what the Bible says.
1st Mayan prophecy: As of 1999 left us 13 years to make changes and run away from destruction. The world will end in 2012.
Jesus said, "But of that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son except the Father" Mark 13: 32.(Referring to the end of time)
2nd Prophecy: The behavior of humanity would change quickly from the solar eclipse of August 11, 1999.
The behavior of mankind has changed since the beginning of creation, the Garden of Eden. Created perfect and clothed with glory, the man with free will given by God, chose to disobey the Creator and to listen to the deceiver (Satan). The consequence was the entrance of sin in the world and change the behavior of mankind. Genesis 3:1-24. The man was stripped of former glory: "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23.
3rd and 4th Prophecy: Global Warming, melting ice at the poles, climate change unprecedented and astonishing speed.
The Bible describes the decline of the planet with precision: "There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the roaring of the waves, men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of the things coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken (Luke 21:25,26) Also Is 24:6 24:4,5 Mt. This divine prophecy is prior to the Mayans. The Bible reveals that Jesus is the Word made flesh (Jn 1:1,2). That is, He created all things. It was the word of Genesis (Gen. 1). Mayas agreed, however, would not be the first to reveal the secrets of the planet's environmental decline. Proof , that God is sovereign and He alone must honor and glory: "The first things preached from ancient times, came out of my mouth, and I shewed them; speedily made them, and they happened" Isaiah 48:3.
5th Prophecy: The fear is eventually to make way for a new reality.
6th Prophecy: A comet endanger humanity
The evils of land will only be extinguished with the 2nd coming of Christ: "And God shall wipe their eyes all tears, and no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things are passed away" Rev 21: 4. Meanwhile, humanity will suffer the consequences of sin, rebellion against God. He created all things good (Genesis 1:31), after rejecting the good, choosing evil, man became the slave of your choices. While there is humanity, there will be fear and pain. This prophecy, therefore, will not be fulfilled in the way the Mayans announced. It is a "stuck".
7th Prophecy: Changes in the solar system. Between 1999 and 2012, the light emitted from the center of the galaxy leads to inner transformation, new realities and the ability to overcome through thought.
A change in the solar system, cause internal transformation?People overcoming reach, through thought? What nonsense! This is fiction! The Bible relates that in the last days there would be signs in the sun, moon and stars (Luke 21:11,25,26 - Mark 13:24).The stars, however, have no power to transform anyone. Seasons change, influence the nature on the planet. The man has spirit, unable to be understood so it is not spirit.
"In Him was life, and life was the light of men. That was the true light that enlightens every man that cometh into the world" John 1:4,9. In the Bible, the only light that can transform man called Jesus.
The Mayans believed that the sun was a god, this is why many credit him benefits given to man. This theory, however, is unfounded. The sun is subject to the laws of God, heaven and earth are governed by those who created them (Psalm 119:89-91).
If you are believing that the world will end in 2012 because the Mayans said so, remember, many false prophets have waited and spoke other purposes, that never came. This is another lie. We must prepare ourselves, in spirit and in truth, for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. For He even said he would return. Days did not score, not a hora.Há need to be always prepared. How? Regretting the past, giving life to Jesus, obeying him, according to His Word.The man who does so will be saved forever. Amen
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life" John 3:16. Believe me, this is the greatest prophecy of all time.
